Some of Johnstown's Slate Sidewalks
My wife says I'm crazy, but since I was a kid these old slate sidewalks have fascinated me. I think of the Revolutionary and Civil War hero's who walked upon them.
Remember how different your skates felt as they rolled over these slates? Smooth skating with a hollow sound. These walks are over 200 years old. If only walks could talk. They're located on the corner of S. Melcher and Clinton. Picture taken looking East up West Clinton.
